Hi There!

The weather outside has certainly improved since our last chat! April it seems was the warmest April on record and we’re heating up our lab with some testing of the next version of UserXpress – but more on that with a later post!!

Early last week we received an email from an SAP Security Analyst that had a potential time-intensive exercise ahead of her, a mind numbing exercise of creating 3,200 test user ID’s on two SAP systems.

At the heart of the matter was a market/regulation change that required intensive testing to ensure that all changes to the system could (a) completed within a specific time period and (b) all changes were in full compliance of the regulatory change.

The testing scenario comprised of two systems, an ECC 6 (EHP 6) system and a CRM 7 (EHP 2), both weighing in at approximately 48,000 SAPS. The test suite was to be run using LoadRunner and a successful run would see in excess of 300,000 changes to business partners over the course of 3 hours.

For security purposes, CATT scripts were not allowed to run on these systems – which proved to be an issue for the SAP Security Team as they estimated it would take one analyst 2 days to create all the required users.

Enter UserXpress.

It took 25 minutes to create the 3,200 required users across the two systems.

Using the “Create Ranged User” function, the analyst simply:

  • Stated the prefix for the user (PERFUSR_) in the example below.
  • Entered the password.
  • Entered the number of users to create.
  • Selected the user from which to copy credentials (searchable drop down menu).
  • Clicked OK and then sat back.
  • This is just one of the many tasks that UserXpress addresses both swiftly and effortlessly.

Thank you again for your time!
